high five for friday

It’s Friday, so let’s link up with Lauren and the others celebrating Friday.

Here are my top 5 from the past week.

1.We got the old truck up and running. It needs a lot of love though, but who knows, this might be our sons first car!

2. I got behind the sewing machine again and for a great cause. Some ladies from our church put on a sewing night for those either wanting to learn or needing a refresher. I definitely needed a refresher, it’s been too long since I have properly sewed anything. We made dresses out of pillow cases. If you are wanting the learn how to sew, this pattern is a great place to start! The dresses we made are going to the girls in Bolivia with our church next month.

3. I picked the first food of the season from our garden. Raspberries and a few strawberries. The tomatoes, broccoli, blueberries, onions, potatoes, squash and zucchini look very promising as well. Our lettuce and peas keep getting eaten. The rabbits have found a hole in our fence and are having their fill.

4. I have this bad boy in my hands for a week. I feel funny using a Canon, but I’ve always wondered how they compare to Nikon. I will say that I am very impressed!

5. I finished this book. It has really, I mean really, challenged my thinking about what the structure of the Church does and should look like. It’s been great to have someone articulate things I’ve wrestled with quietly for a while.
