meet whiskey

Meet our new family member, Whiskey. Never in a million years would I have thought I would bring a cat home to live with me and my family. I grew up with dogs. My mom, sister and brother are allergic to cats, so they always stayed a safe distance away. My husband is also allergic to cats. Why would I get a cat then? We live on 2.5 acres and have been noticing more and more wildlife making their way closer and closer to our home. Those darn bunnies are eating away at my garden. We would love to keep mice away as well. So, Whiskey is now an outdoor cat. I don’t know what the 1.5 years of his life was like before we brought him home, I got him from the local pound. We wanted a mouse chaser, but not one that was too aggressive to be around our kids. We were unsure of his eagerness to chase things down because all he has wanted to do was cuddle. Until last night. Sam watched him chase one of the bunnies across the yard! Yes! So far Whiskey is the perfect cat for us.

A dear friend of mine came over so I could take a few pictures of her, her daughter and her adorable belly before she has baby #2. I took a few snapshots of our two kids eating their treats we bribed them with. (sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do.) I love watching my son play with this girl. It’s funny how he just knows she is a girl and has never tried to wrestle with, play guns or shout with.

Mom iChatting with sisters + makeup bag to little sister as a distraction + enter big brother = innocent fun

This was before I cleaned up his sister. Innocent and fun. All smiles here.

mom getting sister cleaned up + toddler not listening when mom said no more with the makeup = one big mess

father’s day

Happy Father’s Day to Sam. What a wonderful dad you are to our two beautiful children. We are so grateful for all you do for us. Hopefully you can find time to relax in your new hammock. 🙂
